Bainbridge College Seeks PART-TIME INSTRUCTORS

We are currently seeking applications to build a resource pool of qualified part-time instructors in the following areas: Mathematics, Biology, Allied Health, Communications, Sociology, History, Humanities, Political Science, Psychology, Physics, and other areas. Classes are available for day, evening, and Saturday classes at the Bainbridge and Blakely locations. Semesters start at the beginning of August, January and May.

QUALIFICATIONS: Adjunct professors are employed on an "as needed basis" to teach credit classes both on and off campus. Applicants for adjunct positions in the Division of Arts and Sciences must meet the educational requirements for teaching at the collegiate level: a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline from an accredited college. Applicants for positions in the Department of Learning Support must have at least a bachelor's degree in the teaching discipline from an accredited college. Applicants for non-transfer courses in the Division of Technical Studies must have the associate degree in the teaching discipline from an accredited college and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline. Preference for all positions is given to applicants with community college teaching experience. A criminal history check is also required.

Salary is $650 per credit hour of instruction. Courses are typically 3 credit hours.

Position Title: Admissions Clerk

Position Type: Support

Nature of Work This position is responsible for pre-admission counseling and document processing, with focus on helping prospective students through the application and admission processes. Duties include participating in general functions of the Admissions and Records Office and assisting with recruitment activities and events, speaking engagements, and the preparation of semester enrollment reports required by the Board of Regents.

Illustrative Examples of Duties and Responsibilities Serve as the front line counter person to direct incoming students and applicants to the appropriate person or office; Process all transcript requests; Answer the telephone and transfer calls to appropriate person or office.

Desirable Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills Excellent communication skills-both oral and written. Ability to handle problem situations with diplomacy and tact. Experience dealing with the public in an office or professional environment.

QualificationsApplicant must have experience working with the public; experience working with Banner Student Information System; strong communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and a high school diploma or GED. College coursework in a business related field recommended.

Position Title: Recruiter

Position Type: Support

Nature of Work This position is responsible for marketing, admission counseling, and document processing with a focus on helping prospective students through the application process and admission process. The Recruiter will participate in general functions of the Admissions and Records Office and will assist with recruitment activities and events. The Recruiter will also assist with speaking engagements and the preparation of semester enrollment reports required by the Board of Regents.

Work entails providing current, reliable information about admission requirements, forms, and procedures for admission using academic policies and regulations in advising current applicants; setting up and monitoring all in-coming student files for required documentation prior to being checked by the Director of Admissions/Records; and the setting up and maintaining of filing and records management procedures for student permanent records and files.

Illustrative Examples of Duties and Responsibilities Perform Recruitment Activities; Develop Marketing Plans; Process Banner populations and FTP processes to generate admissions correspondence; Assist with the preparation of semester enrollment reports.

Desirable Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills Ability to work effectively with prospective students, counselors, faculty and student services staff. Must possess strong professional work ethics; ability to function as a team player and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with excellent skills in and written and verbal communication.

Position Title: Temporary ADN Nursing Instructor

Position Type: Faculty

Nature of Work: This is a full-time, temporary ADN faculty position for the fall semester with the possibility of renewal for the spring semester. Responsibilities will include teaching and clinical instruction which may include evening or weekend classes. The faculty member may also be expected to advise students and perform institutional and community service.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Nursing OR Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and currently enrolled in a Master’s degree Nursing program; minimum of 2 years current clinical experience, current unrestricted Georgia RN license, and satisfactory criminal history background check. Must have a demonstrated commitment to student learning and success.

Desired Qualifications: Earned doctorate. Two years ADN instructional experience, and experience with instructional technology. Three years recent experience as an RN in an acute care facility.
