We are currently seeking applications to build a resource pool of qualified part-time instructors in the following areas: Mathematics, Biology, Allied Health, Communications, Sociology, History, Humanities, Political Science, Psychology, Physics, and other areas. Classes are available for day, evening, and Saturday classes at the Bainbridge and Blakely locations. Semesters start at the beginning of August, January and May.
QUALIFICATIONS: Adjunct professors are employed on an "as needed basis" to teach credit classes both on and off campus. Applicants for adjunct positions in the Division of Arts and Sciences must meet the educational requirements for teaching at the collegiate level: a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline from an accredited college. Applicants for positions in the Department of Learning Support must have at least a bachelor's degree in the teaching discipline from an accredited college. Applicants for non-transfer courses in the Division of Technical Studies must have the associate degree in the teaching discipline from an accredited college and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline. Preference for all positions is given to applicants with community college teaching experience. A criminal history check is also required.
Salary is $650 per credit hour of instruction. Courses are typically 3 credit hours.
